Abstract: As an external treatment technique of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), auricular point sticking, which is rooted in holographic biology theory and TCM viscera and meridian theory, is a safe and effective treatment method. This article introduces the technology overview and development process. The auricular point sticking technique for constipation is taken as an example to specify the basic requirements, assessment, operational points, acupoint selection and matters needing attention during the implementation of the auricular acupressure technique, providing a reference for the operating procedures of this technique in the clinical treatment of other diseases such as insomnia, diarrhea, colds, hypertension, headache, and dysmenorrhea.
