Evidence-based Mutual Aid Action on Anti-Epidemic--Concern about the frontline health and take on the mission of evidence-based nursing
Epidemic means commands and control means responsibility. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 has become extremely serious, the International Evidence-Based Chinese Medicine Research Institute of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine has launched the “Evidence-based Mutual Aid Action on Anti-Epidemic”. As one of its branches, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine: Evidence-based nursing Center responded actively and led the evidence-based nursing alliance team fight COVID-19.
Since November 2019, the outbreaks of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 have occurred in many places in China, triggering the national fight against the epidemics. How to prevent and control the epidemic effectively and win the epidemic prevention and control battle have become a major issue to the society as well as the academic community. This also set the priorities and requirements for researchers in academia.
On February 14, 2020, the International Evidence-Based Institute of Chinese Medicine of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine launched the “Evidence-based Mutual Aid Action on anti-Epidemic”. In the original intention of “sharing questions, sharing experiences; resisting epidemics, and taking evidence-based responsibility”, gathering evidence-based People quickly to collect the epidemic clinical problems and feedback the best recommendations in time. The Evidence-based Nursing Center of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine responded positively and the National Union of Evidence-Based Nursing of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine as the chief unit of it, quickly convened five evidence-based nursing research institutions across the country (including “the Professor Dou Xinman's Team of Evidence-based Nursing Research Center of Second Hospital of Lanzhou University”, Professor Shi Lanping’s Team of Evidence-based Nursing Center of Shenzhen Hospital of Hong Kong”, “Professor Guo Hailing’s Team of Evidence-based Nursing Application Center of Dongzhimen Hospital”, “Professor Zhao Jing’s Team of Evidence-based Nursing Application Center of China-Japan Friendship Hospital”, “Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Hao Yufang’s Team, Guo Hong’s Team, Su Chunxiang’s Team, Yue Shujin’s Team, Zhou Fen’s Team, Li Weihong’s Team, Li Xiaohua’s Team, Lin Keke’s Team, Tang Ling’s Team, Zhang Dahua’s Team, etc.”) as the core teams and recruited more than 30 postgraduate volunteers to form a top-down three-level evidence-based nursing management work model of “Evidence-based Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine—Evidence-based Nursing Core Team—Evidence-based Nursing Graduate Student”, and conducted a series of action, such as carring out novel coronavirus pneumonia related researches, finding clinical nursing issues, searching and integrating evidence and writing articles, which aim to enable the healthcare professionals and Patients to get evidence-based nursing knowledge and skills quickly.
In order to clarify the objectives and ensure the quality of work, the evidence-based methodology team uniformly formulated the distribution list of evidence-based nursing problems, the template of evidence-based nursing report, the key points of making evidence report tweets, the proposal of nursing evidence summary methodology under the emergency of epidemic situation, and published expert reports and other documents in the Nursing of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. All members of the alliance units have received the above training, made clear the writing style and quality standards, and cooperated among members. At the same time, the expert team was invited to check to ensure that the tweets meet the clinical needs, follow the evidence-based principle and strictly control the quality.
As of March 26, 2020, more than 40 epidemic nursing evidence reports have been continuously promoted, covering multiple themes such as infection prevention and control in the ward, community prevention and control, internal and external nursing management of confirmed patients, nursing management of medical staff, isolation and protection of healthy and suspected people. Since the implementation of evidence-based anti-epidemic action, a series of reports and reprints have been carried out on many platforms, such as BUCM evidence-based medicine perspective, today's headlines, Journal of Integrative Nursing (JIN, ISSN 2663-4481), LECHU online school, JCME online, Gaohu subscription number, resident e health, Jiagaoxihe subscription number, National Center for education and development of traditional Chinese medicine, good doctor, microbroadcast nurse voice, e-magpie Information and so on, causing a high degree of industry attention and praise.
At the same time, Vice President Li Xiaohua organized clinical frontline anti-epidemic doctors, nurse experts and college education experts to develop a new online course on Chinese medicine nursing of COVID-19.
Concern about the frontline health and take on the mission of evidence-based nursing. We hope to use this action to promote domestic evidence-based nursing management. Although there is no perfect evidence, we strive to use scientific evidence to make the actual work as "perfect" as possible.
